INVESTIGATOR
REF:RSM-I-NOV08
Reporting to the Fraud Investigations Manager, the Investigator will provide support to the Fraud Management team by undertaking timely investigations and ensuring best investigative practice is adhered to during and after investigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all offences of fraud, theft and dishonesty against Safaricom are investigated & reported in a consistent manner;
- Ensure investigations are carried out to logical conclusion & reports prepared after the agreed timeline;
- Prepare detailed reports of evidence to be used for cases that require prosecution;
- Liaise with the Insurance function and initiate recovery process;
- Conduct surveillance and field operations for any fraudulent activity;
- Gather relevant information that can lead to prevention or discovery of fraud.
Minimum Requirements
- A Degree or Diploma in Sociology/Criminology/Criminal Intelligence/ Criminal Law/Forensics;
- 5 years experience of which 2 - 3 must have been spent on analytical tasks using automated systems with field operations;
- 3 years in the criminal justice system will be an added advantage;
- Graduate of police training institute is desirable with a minimum rank of Sergeant;
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as testimony, police report, operating and maintenance instructions and legal regulations;
- Experience in carrying out interview and interrogation is mandatory;
- Excellent in Microsoft Office applications;
- Proficiency in the use of ACL;
- Excellent communication, analytical and report writing skills
- Attention to details and result oriented
- Must have the ability to work within strict deadlines
- Have the ability to plan and work with limited supervision
