Agribusiness Initiative (aBi), Uganda 2010-2013 Career Opportunities

The Agribusiness Initiative (aBi), Uganda 2010-2013 is jointly funded by Denmark, Sweden, Belgium and the EC.

The aBi will be implemented through a Trust and will apply value chain approaches to micro, small and medium agribusiness enterprise development and support.

A financial services sub-component will support this. Within the aBi, a gender-for-growth (G4G) fund is to facilitate initiatives that promote women’s entrepreneurship.

Improved trade-related sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) and quality management standards will lead to increased trade opportunities. A consortium formed by GFA Consulting Group GmbH (Germany) and Ramboll Natura AB (Sweden) is bidding for the consulting contract..

Following are the job opportunities, including duration of assignment in person months (pm) for the project.

Commencement of activities is scheduled for March/April 2010.
  1. Gender Specialist and G4G Fund Manager – 42 pm
  2. Borrower Credit Qualification Specialist – 10 pm intermittent
  3. Agribusiness Lending / Capital Market Promotion Specialist – 10 pm intermittent
  4. Risk Management Specialist – 48 pm
  5. Value Chain and Enterprise Development Specialist – 30 pm
  6. Market Development Specialist – 30 pm
  7. SPS and Quality Systems Specialist – 42 pm
