Position: KNH VCT Deputy Finance and Administration Manager
Reports To: Project Manager
Location: Nairobi

Project Description

Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) VCT Project, with support from USAID/APHIA II Nairobi seeks a qualified candidate to fill the post of Deputy Finance and Administration Manager.

The project undertakes Counselling and Testing and Psychosocial Care Activities at the Kenyatta National Hospital through the adult VCT, the Youth Centre VCT, PITC Services & Networking/Partner Site Services.

The position will be based on a yearly renewable contract.

General Purpose
  • Ensure finance, administration and human resources functions for the project provide effective support for the project implementation.
Responsibilities
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial reports.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
  • Preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
  • Budgetary control and management and support of budget and forecast activities.
  • Ensure compliance to procurement policy for KNH and USAID procurement regulations.
  • Financial and operational audit preparation and coordinate the audit process.
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
  • Analyze and advise on project operations including revenue [where applicable] and expenditure trends.
  • Ensure updated personnel information for the project staff, and maintain updated personnel information.
Education and Experience
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
  • Qualified Accountant i.e. CPA(K), ACCA or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of auditing practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations.
  • Good computer skills, particularly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and accounting package.
  • Three years post qualification experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, taxation and providing financial advice.
  • Experience in NGO accounting is desirable especially in USAID projects.
