Our client, a national focal point for trade promotion activities within the East African region, COMESA and external markets is seeking to recruit management staff in the following positions:

General Manager, Finance

The General Manager, Finance will implement policy and take responsibility for financial planning and management.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing the budgeting process and performance monitoring
  • Enforcement of systems, operational standards and controls to assure prudence in resource application and the fast-tracking of financial transactions
  • Efficient information management and delivery for decision making
  • Programmatic reporting to meet requirements of the Board, Government of Kenya, Development Partners and Collaborating Institutions
The ideal candidate must be a senior manager with over 10 years experience in finance, 5 years of which should be as Head of Finance in a progressive commercial organization.

He/She must have: a solid background in business analysis; best practice service delivery; knowledge in leading edge accounting packages; effective people and relationship management skills including the management of external partners and; skills in strategic management, leadership and change management.

Candidates must be Kenyan nationals aged between 35 and 45 years holding: a first degree from a recognized university preferably B.Com (accounting option); MBA or equivalent and; certified public accountant (CPA (K) or equivalent)). Knowledge of Government and donor financial reporting is an added advantage.

Assistant Manager, Product Development

The Assistant Manager, Product Development will work closely with the exporting community in specific sectors to adapt existing/new products so as to meet international market requirement.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Undertaking diagnostic studies and supply surveys to establish the country’s capacity for export business
  • Undertaking the development of product catalogues with sector champions
  • Carrying out export readiness checks to establish the state of preparedness of clients to take advantage of market opportunities,
  • Providing technical assistance to clients in product design and costing,
  • Initiating and coordinating sector specific dissemination workshops/seminars and other outreach programmes to improve exporting skills
The ideal candidate must be a results-oriented manager with 5 years experience in product development, pricing and packaging.

In particular, candidates must have good working knowledge of the supply chain in the country and the challenges facing the different sectors.

Candidates must be in possession of effective communication, analytical and business counselling skills, and the ability to organise and deliver training programmes effectively.

Candidates must be holders of a degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Economics or other relevant degree from a recognized university, preferably with specialisation in manufacturing, commercial crafts and services sectors.

Regional Coordinator – Coast Region

The Regional Coordinator will be expected to provide trade information, market intelligence, business counselling and facilitation on trade logistics to the business community within the region.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Establishment of networks with trade information providers to facilitate acquisition and dissemination of information to the business community
  • Assessment of customer satisfaction and establishment of new requirements in trade information and training
  • Development of appropriate products and services for international markets in consultation with the head office, the business community and other stakeholders
  • Organisation of seminars for exporters and business support organizations to raise export promotion awareness
  • Contribution to the production of the Kenya Export Directory and trade information publications
  • Identification of income generating projects for cost effective operations
The ideal candidate must be a senior manager with at least 5 years experience in managing business information and export marketing.

He/she should be a holder of a degree in business, economics or other related economics discipline with qualification in international marketing and information management from recognized institutions.

He/she must be in possession of good communication, training and analytical skills, and the ability to develop extensive networks with stakeholders.
