Orthodox Development Co-operative Savings and Credit Society Limited Jobs in Kenya

Orthodox Development Co-operative Savings and Credit Society Limited is registered under the Co-operative Society Act (Cap 490, Section 6).

The Board wishes to recruit visionary and dynamic employees to provide the stewardship required to deliver its mandate.

The suitable candidates shall be employed on a 5-year performance, renewable contracts.

Manager

Duties and Responsibilities.
  • Will be the chief officer of the society and will conduct business of the Sacco and exercise control over the administration of the society subject to overall control of the Central Management Committee (CMC).
  • Will be an Ex-officio member of all the committee of the society.
  • The General Manager will advise the CMC and other committees in framing policies and programs of the society and implement these after approval.
  • He/she will supervise the work of all staff and ensure that the business of the society is conducted in a proper manner.
  • The General Manager will ensure that proper books of accounts records and returns are kept and that regular financial statistical and operational information is prepared and submitted to the CMC and other committees and also the Ministry of Co-operatives Development, and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of that information.
  • The General Manager will be responsible for diligent management of all the Society’s funds and assets.
  • The General Manager will ensure that all statutory deductions are made correctly and that all amounts due and the necessary returns are submitted by the due dates.
Qualifications.
  • Degree in business related studies-MBA added advantage
  • Diploma in Co-operative management
  • Computer literate
  • 5 years work experience at managerial level in a busy organization
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Result oriented and a good decision maker
  • 35 years and above.
Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records for all the Sacco assets including cash and ensure safe custody of all Sacco assets.
  • Verification and checking of all accounting documents.
  • Communicate and advise the Management regularly on financial status of the society and funds available for various programs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely record keeping.
  • Timely preparation and presentation of management records, cost control reports, budgets and statutory returns.
  • Prepare and co-ordinate preparation of financial reports.
  • Ensure monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts.
  • Prepare final trial balance for Audit purposes.
  • Liaise with external auditors for Society Audit.
Qualifications.
  • B.Com Degree (Accounting/Finance)
  • CPA 2 and above
  • 5 years work experience at a senior level in a busy accounting environment, preferably within the Co-operative movement
  • Computer literate in accounting packages
  • 25-35 years of age.
FOSA Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize and co-ordinate activities in the Branch and ensure sufficient economical operations and proper efficient service to the members.
  • Ensure proper operation procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure safe custody of all FOSA Assets.
  • Handle customer queries.
  • Play the role of a public relations officer in the Branch.
  • Assign duties to all FOSA staff, direct and control as necessary.
  • Supervise the preparation of daily and monthly reconciliation, monthly trial balances, monthly and quarterly reports on reconciliation and development of savings, loans, debts, liquidity reserve, gross interest margin and proper action on such information.
  • Ensure safe custody of cash and other assets.
  • Ensure that yearly budgets are prepared in good time.
  • Forecast and make requisition for expected daily cash withdrawals based on demand for the FOSA.
  • 25-35 years of age.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Degree in relevant field/Diploma in Banking or Co-operative Management
  • CPA at least part 2 or ACCA 1
  • Computer proficiency in computer application, especially in accounting packages and systems
  • Knowledge of FOSA Operations
  • Knowledge of operation of various Sacco software systems an added advantage
  • At least two years experience in a similar capacity or banking experience
  • 25-35 years of age.
System Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare reports on the system issues.
  • Monitoring checks of systems/software.
  • Applying operating systems updates and configuration changes.
  • Install and configure new hardware/software.
  • Management and Administration of user passwords.
  • Keep networks up and running.
  • Provide user support.
  • Database maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Diploma in Computer Science/IT
  • Computer proficiency in computer application, especially in accounting packages and systems
  • Thorough knowledge of troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of operation of various Sacco software systems, at least one year’s experience in the same or related position
  • 25-35 years of age.
Customer Service Officer

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all customers queries.
  • Preparation of Customer service reports.
  • Guide customers in the FOSA on all matters regarding products and services.
  • Responsible for FOSA accounts opening.
  • Update the Accounts register.
  • Educate customers on suitable products.
  • Effectively and efficiently serve all customers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • KCSE C+ and above
  • Diploma in Marketing or Public Relations
  • Knowledge of Society’s products and services
  • Computer proficiency in computer application, especially in accounting packages and systems
  • Knowledge of operation of various Sacco software systems an added advantage
  • At least one year experience in the same or related position
  • 25-35 years of age.
Teller

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Make reports to the management on all transactions.
  • Responsible for cash handling in the FOSA.
  • Ensure safekeeping of all cash in his/her care.
  • Ensure daily audit of transactions.
  • Daily reconcile all monetary transactions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • KCSE C+ and above
  • Diploma in Banking Services or CPA Part 2
  • Computer proficiency in computer application, especially in accounting packages and systems
  • Knowledge of operation of various Sacco software systems an added advantage
  • At least one year experience in the same or related position
  • 21-25 years of age.
