Location: Nairobi
Reporting to CFO, the Head Management Reporting will be responsible for planning, leading and controlling all business parameters through business planning and carrying out periodic business reviews. The job holder will also be responsible for enhancing revenue through pricing management.
This position will be responsible for:
- Holding overall responsibility of the business planning process
- Carrying out monthly performance reviews and reporting on the same
- Facilitating the business to take appropriate decision through management reports & analysis
- Liaising closely with Business Partners to monitor & control departments’ spending against budgets
- Working proactively towards maintaining and improving the reporting framework of the organization
- Ensuring that all processes within this area are documented accurately
- Preparing the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) with coordination from all the functions
- Preparing monthly plans and rolling forecasts
- In depth variance analysis with AOP & forecasts
- Monitoring the budget and ensuring budgetary control
- Providing functional wise costs, KPI parameters and variance analysis
- Monthly performance reports and analysis
- Developing robust processes and reporting framework
- In-depth analysis of price/cost and volume variances for revenue, OPEX & CAPEX parameters
Knowledge, skills & attributes required:
- An undergraduate degree in Finance with ACCA/CPA qualifications
- A Post Graduate degree in Finance
- Significant experience in working in a commercially focused finance environment with the responsibility for management accounts and/or statutory reporting
- 10 years experience with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role in a telecommunications industry
- Fluent in general accounting principles and accounts preparation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor a team
- Experience in a telecommunications environment will be a distinct advantage
- Good analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex and ambiguous problems and solve them
- Good IT skills including working with financial software systems
- Proactive with the ability to work independently, prioritize workload and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to initiate & develop relationships across the organization (including management level)
