Our client, a local NGO has a vacancy for a Program Officer who will be a full time team member supporting the fundraising and implementation of activities of the organization.

- Write grant proposals, reports, and letters of interest for current and potential development partners.
- Build a working knowledge of donor portfolios and relationships with philanthropic partners.
- Ensure the quality of development partner’s files and prepare and use the information to carry out a variety of tasks that support the team’s activities and goals.
- Work with the Management team and programs team to support the creation of strategic plans, work plans and budgets for the organization’s development activities.
- Identify areas for research and lead the analysis and synthesis of substantive trends, emerging needs and research findings in the sub-regions in order to produce new and cutting edge technical knowledge
- Identify and analyze trends, threats and risks in the thematic area of work that may affect the women human rights agenda and organization’s work within the sub-region.
- Represent the organization in local and international strategic meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelors and/or advanced university degree in social sciences, Law or other relevant discipline and trainings.
- Specific fundraising training and a minimum of two years relevant work experience.
- A proven track record in grant writing is required.
- Excellent knowledge of computers.
- Strong writing skills, knowledge of women’s human rights, working knowledge of international development partners and strong familiarity with reporting requirements of foundations and bilateral/multilateral agencies.
- Capable of working with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
