National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) invites applications from experienced and talented candidates for the following vacant positions:

Legal Officer, Grade E5

This position reports to the Head of Legal Services and assist in the day to day running of the Legal Services Department.

Duties and Responsibilities
An officer at this level will assist the Head of Legal Services in facilitating the development of procedures and regulations for effective implementation of the Environmental Management and Coordination Act and advice on legal matters.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this position, a candidate must have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized University.
• A Masters degree in Environmental Law from a recognized University.
• Be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya,
• Served as a Senior Legal Officer or in a comparable, relevant position in the public or private sector for at least three (3) years,
• A management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks cumulatively,
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

2. Principal corporate Communications Officer, Grade E5

This position reports to the Chief Corporate Communications Manager and assist in the day to day running of the Corporate Communications Section.

Duties and Responsibilities
An officer at this level will assist the Chief Corporate Communications Manager in the planning and implementation of a proactive media program in order to increase NEMA's presence in the media channels. The Successful candidate will serve as the media liaison officer

Requirements for appointments

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

• A bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications or Journalism,
• A Masters degree in Public Relations, Communications or journalism;
• Served as a Senior Corporate Communications Officer or in a comparable, relevant position in the public or private sector for at least three (3) years;
• Demonstrated capability in the management and handling of the communications function is required at this level.
