Chief Communication Officer

The Kenya Institute of Education (KIE) wishes to recruit qualified professionals for vacant position as outlined below:

Duties and Responsibilities at this level will entail:

* Organizing and overseeing the Institute’s corporate affairs, events and public relation activities;
* Ensuring timely and accurate responses to enquiries from both internal and external audiences;
* Coordinating timely publication of the Institute’s newsflash, Curriculum Watch and other information materials;
* Researching, gathering, analyzing and disseminating correct information to the target audience in an easy and understandable manner;
* Drafting and editing appropriate messages; including presentations, speeches, press releases, weekly updates and newsletters whose broad objective is to underscore the corporate mission and vision and;
* Preparing and making appropriate follow-up of corporate advertisements for print, electronic and outdoor media.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade an officer must have:

* Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Education or a related field. Post graduate qualification in the area of communication will be an added advantage;
* Served in the grade of Senior Communication Officer or in a relevant & comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years;
* Experience in media liaison and networking;
* Knowledge of media ethics and global trends in corporate communication;
* Excellent editorial, speech and report writing skills;
* Advanced ICT skills and;
* Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
