Kenya Railways Corporation General Manager ( Corporate Planning and Business Development)

Duties & Responsibilities

The General Manager will report to the Managing Director for effective management of the Corporation’s non-conceded assets, business development and strategic planning to ensure business growth and development.

The specific tasks include but not limited to:

* Providing overall leadership in Marketing, Business Development and Research and planning activities of KRC;
* Evaluation and development of new projects and business opportunities;
* Managing and reviving growth from non-conceded assets;
* Coordinating the development of the business strategy and performance monitoring in line with the Corporation’s objectives and targets;
* Overseeing the sales and marketing activities of the Corporation;
* Developing and implementing new business opportunities;
* Monitoring and coordinating the organisations performance contract with the government;
* Preparing and presenting divisional management papers for approval by the management.

Requirements

* Must have a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA);
* Must have a Bachelors degree in Land Economics;
* Diploma in project management or marketing would be an added advantage;
* Minimum of 10 years experience, 5 of which must be in at senior management level in a busy organization;
* Excellent interpersonal , communication and negotiation skills;
* Team player and strong leadership, organizational and management skills;
* Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications;
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
