Regional Human Resources Manager:
Reporting to the Regional Chief Operating Officer (RCOO), this is a senior management position, where the post holder will be responsible for managing the overall provision of Human Resources services and policies for Aga Khan Foundation Country Units as well as Foundation Administered Programmes (FAPs) in Kenya, Uganda, Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.
This position will be based in Nairobi Kenya but could change in the future. The successful candidate should be willing and able to travel frequently within the East Africa region.
The post holder should be a person of high integrity, empathetic, caring and responsible with the ability to handle all matters with diplomacy and utmost confidentiality.
The main responsibilities within the East Africa region will include: Recruiting and staffing
- Staff orientation, development and training
- Performance management and improvement systems
- Policy development, documentation and staff records management in addition to ensuring compliance of the policies of the HR Manual to prevailing laws within the East Africa region
- Continue review Organisation Development processes
- Employee relations, services and counselling
- Support and administration to the Foundation's various Scholarships, Fellowship, Volunteer and Internship programmes
- Preparation and submission of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reports to management
- A postgraduate degree, preferably in Business Administration with specialization in HR;
- Five to Seven years relevant work experience with a successful track record in senior HR positions.
- Experience within the East Africa region will be considered a highly added advantage.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Good inter-personal skills to engage productively with all levels of staff across the region, within the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) and with external stakeholders in a cross-cultural, inter-disciplinary environment
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple tasks, demands and deadlines with a positive and constructive attitude under minimal supervision
- Computer literacy in all major applications; Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint & Microsoft Outlook
