Its mandate is the expression of Christian care to people in need irrespective of race, sex, creed, nationality, religious or political conviction.
LWF Kenya seeks to address the causes and consequences of human suffering and poverty amongst some of the most vulnerable communities in Kenya, through participatory relief and development interventions in partnership with local communities and organizations.
LWF has worked in Kakuma Refugee Camp in northwest Kenya since 1992 in partnership with UNHCR,WFP and other international and national implementing agencies. LWF activities include provision of drinking water, formal education, community services and food and non-food items distribution.
Since 2007 LWF has been working with UNHCR and partners in Dadaab refugee camps to implement some of the functions of camp management.
LWF is recruiting Kenyan Nationals for the following positions based at Dadaab refugee camps.
1. CAMP MANAGEMENT OFFICER (1 POSITION)
This is a senior position responsible for overseeing the strengthening and functioning of community-based management structures and mechanisms for refugees in Dadaab camps.
Professional qualifications: Degree in social sciences and academic or on-job training in the Project Cycle model
Relevant experience: At least 3 years experience in refugee/IDPs camps or humanitarian program management.
2. FINANCE ASSISTANT (1 POSITION)
This position requires skills both in financial accounting and Accounting software.
Professional qualifications: Possess at least CPA I I
Relevant experience: At least three (3) years working experience in a finance office, NGO experience is an added advantage.
Excellent computer skills and practical experience in accounting software, MS word, Excel and other programs is a must.
