Procurement Officer

Nation Media Group, the leading multi media house in East and Central Africa is searching to recruit suitably qualified candidates for the position of Procurement Officer in our Procurement Department.

We invite applicants who are innovative, performance driven and possess excellent transferable skills with a good track record of achievement in past roles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Effective sourcing of goods and services both locally and internationally as per laid down procedures;
• Managing supplier/ customers’ relations;
• Liaising with clearing and forwarding agents and transporters for timely and effective delivery of goods;
• Monitoring market trends; and
• Ensuring timely supply of goods and services.

Knowledge ,skills and experience requirements:

• Basic University degree;
• Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies (MCIPS)
• At least 3 years work experience in a similar role; and
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• High degree of integrity
• Ability and readiness to work long /odd hours
• Result driven
• Knowledge of SAP Materials Management module will be an added advantage.
