Position: Intern Community Mobilizers (3)

Locations:

• A: Karamoja – (1 position- in livestock sector)
• B: North Pokot – (2- Positions Water sector)

Duration: 3 months renewal depending on funds and performance

Availability: Immediately

The Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED) is currently looking for an Interns - Community Mobilizer in Karamoja and North Pokot

Job duties and responsibilities include;

• Assist in community mobilization/sensitization on ACTED’s Interventions;
• Together with the Community Mobilizer, Conduct regular meetings with stake holders on project implementation status;
• Training Community Health Workers, Water user communities and the Community on good hygiene practices through PHAST methodology;
• Assist the community Mobilzers in training the Water user community on management, operation and maintenance of their water points;
• Assist in conducting KAP surveys before and after implementation of the project.
• Any other responsibilities that may be assigned by your supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications required:

1. Livestock

• Qualification in community Development, Sustainable agriculture, Animal Husbandry
• Should speak Pokot or Akaramong fluently;

2. Water

• Diploma in any of the field above is an added advantage
• Should speak Pokot or Akaramong fluently;
• Certificate in Plumbing, Water Engineering or any other related field;

Benefits

This is a voluntary position and the incumbents will get monthly stipend plus food and accommodation cost while in the field. Depending on performance, the intern may be offered an employment contract based on availability of funds and performance.
