Vijana Maarufu (VIMA) development group is a community based organisation (CBO) that operates in Kisumu especially in the slums of Kisumu, Nyando and Rarieda districts in Nyanza province.
The organisation responds to socio-economic impact of HIV/AIDS facing OVC’s and their care givers who are too old, too poor and or living with HIV/AIDS.
The organisation provides basic services and skills including, healthcare; child and
family psychosocial counselling; HIV/AIDS/STI support services; formal and non
formal education support; vocational training; food security and food supplement as well as economic empowerment.
The Board is looking to recruit a new Director to lead the organisation as it continues to develop and maximise its impact.
We are looking for an individual with at least 4 years experience in senior managerial position in the NGO sector.
He/she must have a degree and a post graduate qualification in management or a social science field and an in-depth understanding of the needs of OVCs.
In addition, He/she must be conversant with preparation of reports, business plans, funding proposals, excellent communication, presentation as well as advocacy skills.
Experience in project management, monitoring and evaluation and financia management would be added advantage.
We are also looking for two Project Officers for our OVC and social care support
programs.
The post holders will provide technical and programmatic leadership for VIMA’s foundation’s OVC activities implemented in the project areas and must have Bachelor degree in social science or other related fields, OR Diploma level training in social science or health with 5 years experience in implementing OVC Programs in NGO sector.
