The Government established Bondo University College as a Constituent College of Maseno University by upgrading Bondo Teachers Training College through a Legal Order No. 56 of 2009 of 11th May 2009.

Accordingly, Bondo University Council is looking for dynamic, visionary, energetic, motivated and result oriented people to fill the following positions:
A. Deputy Principal
BUC/1/2010: Deputy Principal (Academic Affairs)
Duties and responsibilities:
The Deputy Principal (Academic Affairs) will be the principal assistant to the University College Principal and will take charge of Academic Affairs Division.
The Deputy Principal (Academic Affairs) shall be the head of Academic Affairs Division, whose primary functions include: development and preparation of academic programmes, courses, syllabi and regulations; co-ordination of examinations, admissions and registration of students, and postgraduate studies.
For the time being, she/he will also assist the Principal in co-coordinating research within the College.
The successful candidate shall be responsible for ensuring that the academic departments operate effectively and efficiently in line with the Vision and the Mission of the University College.
Under the direction of the Principal, the Deputy Principal will ensure that the academic programmes evolve into pillars of excellence.
Qualifications and experience:
The Applicant must:
* Be a Professor or an Associate Professor who has at least 7 years experience in senior management position with outstanding and internationally recognized scholarship record
* Demonstrate competence in administrative and academic leadership in academic/research environment
* Have a track record of success and performance characterized by visionary and strategic thought, rapid growth and service delivery as well as translation of ideas into value outputs
* Have the capacity to motivate and influence staff, students and other stakeholders
* Demonstrate evidence of outstanding ability to communicate effectively and good interpersonal skills
* Show good understanding and commitment to the University College coupled with a passion for the promotion of learning, excellence in teaching, research and innovation with the highest ethical standards, integrity and professionalism
* Have skills, capacity and determination to initiate and facilitate the development of relevant and quality market and society driven academic programmes
* Have proven capacity to promote learning, teaching, research and development in a University setting
* Have a good understanding of the national policies and strategies governing University education and training in Kenya
* Have a broad awareness of the factors and conditions shaping the development of higher education in the country.
Terms and conditions of service:
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the existing terms and conditions of service.
Employment will be on a three year performance based contract.

1. Office of the Principal
BUC/2/2010: Legal Officer
Grade 12
The Applicant must have:
* A Degree in Law from a recognized University
* A Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law
* A valid practicing license
* CPS (K) or its equivalent
* A minimum of 5 years in legal, jurisprudence or litigation
* Computer literacy skills.
* Masters degree holders will have an added advantage.
BUC/3/2010: Internal Auditor
Grade 12
The Applicant must have:
* A Bachelors degree in Accounting and CPA (K) or its equivalent
* At least five (5) years of relevant experience in a University setting or its equivalent
* Computer literacy skills.
* Masters degree holders will have an added advantage.
BUC/4/2010: ICT Manager
Grade 12
The Applicant must have:
* A Bachelors degree in Information and Communication Technology or equivalent
* A Professional certificate in CCNA, CCP, N+r A+, SQL, Oracle and Windows Server
* Working knowledge on Management Information System
* Served for at least five (5) years in a senior position in the ICT section within a University setting or its equivalent.
* Knowledge and experience in ISO Quality Management Systems.
* Postgraduate training in ICT will be an added advantage
* Knowledge on computer hardware, networking and applications
BUC/5/2010: ICT Assistant
Grade 8
The Applicant must have:
* A Diploma in Information Technology or related field.
* A Professional certificate in CCNA, CCP, Oracle and Windows Server.
* Three (3) years experience in information technology systems.
* Knowledge on computer hardware, networking and applications.
2. Administration and Finance Division
BUC/6/2010: Registrar (Administration)
Grade 15
Duties and responsibilities:
Under the general guidance of the Deputy Principal (Administration and Finance), the Registrar in charge of Administration shall co-ordinate activities pertaining to the general administration and personnel.
In particular, the Registrar (Administration) shall coordinate staff recruitment, guide on interpretation and review of the terms and conditions of service of all cadres of staff, maintain staff records, oversee staff training and development, and handle staff welfare and disciplinary cases
Qualifications:
The Applicant must have:
* MBA in Human Resource Management or a related field from a recognized University. CPS (K) or its equivalent.
* Served at least for 5 years in the position of Deputy Registrar in a University setting or its equivalent.
* Demonstrated evidence of capacity development in human resource management based on modern principles and practices.
* Have knowledge of current labour laws, proven conflict resolution skills and industrial relations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge and the ability to use modern Human Resource Software for effective and efficient human resource management.
* Applicants with PhD in the relevant field will have an added advantage.
BUC/7/2010: Finance Officer
Grade 15
Duties and responsibilities:
The Finance Officer will head the Finance Department and will be responsible to the Management in ensuring that proper financial planning, budgeting, control, management and operations are adhered to.
Working under the direction of the Deputy Principal (Administration and Finance), the Finance Officer will prepare the requisite financial documents for both the Management and the Council.
Qualifications:
The applicant must have:
* A Masters degree in Finance or Accounting
* CPA(K) or its equivalent
* At least five (5) years work experience at the level of Deputy Finance Officer in a
* University setting or its equivalent
* Information communication technology modern financial management techniques.
* Applicants with PhD in the relevant field will have an added advantage.
BUC/8/2010: Deputy Registrar (Human Resource/Central Services)
Grade 14
Qualifications:
The applicant must have:
* A Masters degree preferably in Public Administration or other Management areas CPS (K) or its equivalent
* Worked for 5 years at the level of Senior Assistant Registrar in a University setting or its equivalent
* Modern management techniques, including relevant aspects of ICT.
BUC/9/2010: Senior Assistant Registrar
Grade 13
* A Masters degree preferably in Public Administration or other Management areas
* CPS (K) or its equivalent.
* Worked for 5 years at the level of Assistant Registrar in a University setting or its equivalent
* Modern management techniques, including relevant aspects of ICT.
BUC/10/2010: Assistant Registrar
Grade 12
* A Masters degree preferably in Public Administration or other Management areas CPS (K) or its equivalent.
* Worked for 5 years at the level of Senior Administrative Assistant in a University setting or its equivalent
* Modern management techniques, including relevant aspects of ICT.
BUC/11/2010: Senior Accountant
Grade 13
The applicant must have:
* MBA or Masters Degree in Accounting or equivalent
* CPA (K) or its equivalent.
* At least five (5) years experience at the level of an accountant in a University setting or its equivalent
* Experience in corporate planning, systems development and implementation, project management, statutory and financial reporting.
BUC/12/2010: Accountant
Grade 12
The applicant must have:
* B.Com. (Accounting Option) or Bachelor of Business Administration
* CPA (K) plus five (5) years relevant working experience at the level of a Senior Assistant Accountant.
BUC/13/2010: Estates Manager
Grade 12
The applicant must have:
* A Masters Degree in Land Economics or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* A registration certificate with a relevant professional body.
* Bachelor Degree holders who have at least 5 years experience at Grade 10 in a University setting or its equivalent will be considered.
* Be registered valuers.
* Managed properties in a public institution or equivalent for 8 years.
* Working knowledge on computers management software.
BUC/14/2010: Procurement Officer
Grade 12
The applicant must have:
* A Masters degree in procurement/Supplies management with at least 3 years relevant experience in a University or its equivalent.
* Must be a member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management.
* Bachelor degree holders with a post-graduate qualification in purchasing or procurement and 7 years relevant experience in a University or its equivalent may be considered.
BUC/15/2010: Clinical Officer
Grade 10
The Applicant must have:
* A Higher National Diploma in Clinical Medicine with at least (5) years experience at Grade 9.
* Further qualifications in ENT Ophthalmology or Pediatrics, Orthopedics and Anaesthetics.
* Evidence of continuing medical education will be an added advantage.
BUC/16/2010: Assistant Transport &Plant Officer
Grade 9
The Applicant must have:
* A Higher National Diploma (Automotive) with at least five (5) years relevant working experience within a University setting or its equivalent.
BUC/17/2010: Administrative Assistants
Grade 8
The Applicant must have:
* A Bachelors degree in Social Sciences or Public Administration from a recognized University plus relevant professional qualifications
* At least five (5) years working experience in Administration in a University setting or its equivalent.
* Applicants with Masters Degree in the relevant fields will have an added advantage.
BUC/18/2010: Assistant Purchasing Officer
Grade 8
The Applicant must have:
* A Bachelors degree in Purchasing or Supplies, Economics, Commerce or closely related discipline with at least three (3) years experience in Purchasing and Supplies gained in a University setting or its equivalent
* A professional qualification in Purchasing and Supplies Management from a recognized professional body
* Membership to Procurement and Supplies from a reputable body will be an added advantage.
3. Academic Division
BUC/19/2010: Registrar (Academic Affairs)
Grade 15
Duties and responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Deputy Principal (Academic Affairs) the Registrar (Academic Affairs) will coordinate admission of students, ensure smooth day to day running of academic programmes, be responsible for both teaching and examination timetabling; facilitate the Academic Board meetings in consultation with the Deputy Principal (A&A, prepare documents of both Academic Board and Senate meetings.
Qualifications:
The Applicant must have:
* A Masters degree from a recognized University. CPS (K) or its equivalent.
* At least 5 years experience at the level of Deputy Registrar in a University setting or its equivalent.
* Modern management techniques.
* Information communication technology modern techniques.
* Applicants with PhD in relevant fields will have an added advantage.
BUC/20/2010: Assistant Dean of Students
Grade 13
The Applicant must have:
* MA or MSc in Social Sciences or related fields.
* Five (5) years experience in dealing with students in a University setting or equivalent at the level of Grade 12
BUC/21/2010: Librarian
Grade 12
The Applicant must have:
* MA/MSc in Information Sciences.
* Five (5) years experience working in a University setting or equivalent at the level of Grade 12.
* Relevant independent research in Information Sciences.
4. Planning, Research and Extension Division
BUC/22/2010: Deputy Registrar (Planning, Research and Extension Services)
Grade 14
Duties and responsibilities:
Working under the direction of Deputy Principal, Planning, Research and Extension Services, the Deputy Registrar in charge of Planning and Quality Assurance will
* ensure that the mission and overall mandate of the University College is articulated through systematic planning and monitoring;
* will provide technical backstopping to the respective cost centres;
* assist in the development and review of strategic plan and direction;
* facilitate compliance with the set administrative and management systems in accordance with set performance targets and ISO certification standards;
* will be involved in the planning, preparation, implementation and monitoring of development projects in the University College;
* will be involved in preparation, updating of annual work plans and spearhead community outreach programmes.
Qualifications:
The Applicant must have:
* A Masters degree in planning, development studies or related fields.
* Five (5) years relevant experience at the level of Senior Assistant Registrar in a University setting or equivalent.
* 10 years relevant experience in adaptive research or community outreach activities.
* Demonstrated capacity development in areas like result- based management, translation of thoughts into outputs.
* The knowledge of the current trends in Management including performance contracting, ISO certification standards, Monitoring and Evaluation.
* Demonstrated capacity in project proposal development and fundraising.
* Applicants with a PhD degree in the relevant field will have an added advantage.
BUC/23/2010: Senior Administrative Assistant (Planning)
Grade 10
* A Bachelor degree in Architecture or Project Planning or related field.
* Professional qualification in management areas will be preferred.
* CPS (K) or its equivalent.
* Worked for 5 years at the level of Senior Administrative Assistant in a
* University setting or its equivalent.

Associate Professor:
The Applicant must be holders of a PhD degree in a relevant field from a recognized University.
In addition the applicant must;
* have at least five (5) years of University teaching at the level of Senior Lecturer;
* have successfully supervised at least four (4) Masters students and (1) PhD student since being appointed Senior Lecturer;
* show evidence' of continuing scholarship, research, including having published at least four (4) articles in refereed journals since being appointed Senior Lecturer;
* show evidence of having successfully applied for grants/research projects;
* show evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops;
* show evidence of active participation in community outreach programmes, departmental activities and good quality teaching.
* Be conversant with the current trends in the respective discipline and have passion towards innovation.
Senior Lecturer:
The Applicant Must be holders of a PhD degree in a related field from a recognized University;
* have at least five (5) years of University teaching three (3) of which are, as a full-time lecturer after PhD qualification;
* have successfully supervised at least three (3) Masters' students and one (1) PhD student since being appointed lecturer;
* show evidence of continuing scholarship, research including having published at least three (3) articles in refereed journals since being appointed lecturer;
* show evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or Workshops and show evidence of active participation in community outreach programmes, departmental activities and good quality teaching.
* Be conversant with the current trends in the respective discipline and have passion towards innovation.
Lecturer:
The Applicant must be holders of a PhD degree or has successfully defended PhD Thesis in a related field from a recognized University and has published at least one paper in a refereed journal or two (2) papers in international conference proceedings.
Assistant Lecturer:
The Applicant must be a holder of a Masters Degree in the relevant or related field from a recognized University. In addition, the applicant should have at least three (3) years teaching experience or part-time teaching experience in a University setting or its equivalent.
An Applicant who has already registered for a PhD degree in the relevant or related field will have an added advantage.

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the existing terms and conditions of service.
Employment will be on a permanent basis with an attractive pension scheme subject to a probationary period as per the current terms and conditions of service.
