1. The Government of Uganda has applied for financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Energy for Rural Transformation Project Phase II, and intends to apply part of the loan proceeds to make payments under the contract for Consultancy Services.

The services include the under listed main tasks:

• Prepare detailed Socio- Economic Analysis and Engineering Designs primarily based on the Single Earth Wire Return (SWER) low cost technology.
• Prepare bid documents for the construction works.
• Procurement support for the Construction WoYks.
• Supervise the Construction Works.

2. The contract duration for executing the engineering design and associated studies shall be four months while the activities involving overseeing the procurement process for the construction works and supervision of the given construction works shall take approximately fifteen months.

3. The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) now invites eligible consultancy firms to indicate their interest in providing the services mentioned above for Ntenjeru Single Wire Earth Return project located in Ntenjeru Sub-county in Mukono District and comprises of approximately 33 km long of medium voltage lines including tee-offs to Buwanga, Mutti Farm, Nantabule, Kinsinsi and Mazinmeya (Zirimenya) Landing Sites on Lake Victoria.

4. Interested consultancy firms must submit information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments especially SWER and other low cost designs, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

5. Consultants shall be short listed in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (current edition).
