Lake Victoria South Water Services Board was established on 12th March 2004 vide gazette notice No. 1714 under the Water Act 2002 as a State Corporation.
It is responsible for the provision of efficient and economical Water and Sanitation Services in its area of jurisdiction.
The Board has received funding from UNICEF for implementation of rural water and sanitation projects in the Board's area of jurisdiction and it intends to engage a qualified Engineer who will help in the implementation of the projects.
We are therefore looking for a suitable candidate to fill the following position which is based in Kisumu.
The position is on a one year renewable contract.

The holder of the position will be reporting to the Chief Manager Rural Water and Sanitation and will be responsible for the following functions:-

- Design, planning and supervision of construction of UNICEF funded projects.
- Monitoring and evaluation of UNICEF funded projects to ensure time schedules are met.
- Preparation of progress reports and up-dates
- Preparation of payment certificates
- Screening of community project proposals and forwarding to UNICEF
- Preparation of programme expenditure estimates.
- Carrying out effective consultation with all key stakeholders at all stages of implementation of the programme.
- Developing work plans, and targets to facilitate achievement of the project objectives.
- Ensuring that the needs of various stakeholders are effectively met.

- A Bachelors Degree in Civil or Water Engineering or related sciences.
- A Post Graduate qualification in Project Management will be an added advantage.
- Have at least 5 years experience in managing water and sewerage related services.
- Familiarity with donor-funded projects will be an added advantage
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and liaising with various stakeholders
- Basic understanding with GOK accounting systems
- Proficiency in use of computers
