Energy Divison Co-ordinator

The incumbent’s main roles will be to provide strategic leadership in project management, business planning, donor management and budgeting. He/she will manage projects and oversee their design as well as implementation as a result he/she will be charged with management of resources as well. Our client is in search of a proactive and diligent team worker to take up this role effectively.
Description:

The role will include but not limited to:

-Project Manager / Director leading multi-disciplinary design and study teams on various major infrastructure Renewable Energy projects
-Strategic planning for growth, contributing and driving division’s business planning processes, leadership of prospect capture and proposal activity.
-Responsible for commercial and risk management issues.
-Ensure business development direction of the Energy division is aligned with business activities and objectives.
-Oversee and support engineering team’s feasibility studies, design, implementation and project management for the projects.
-Seek out opportunities for pro-active customer engagement with key customers and opportunities to promote the skills of the whole division and broader company prior to the customer preparing pre-qual or tender information.
-Continuously review business operations, covering regional strategy, management systems, IT development, office facilities and administration, resource utilisation, personnel development
-Ensure protocols are in place, adhering to all legal privacy requirements and ethical standards upheld by regulatory bodies and professional organizations.
-Enable continuous improvement of project management and divisional integration
-Collate, analyse and disseminate market intelligence aligned to Identifying future iconic projects and prepare capture plans.
-Enabling market awareness of future key customers, potential customers and existing customers declining.
-Overview and direction on skills and career development of junior/intermediate staff
-Design and develop the tools necessary to maintain an informative prospect management system that relates directly to goals and targets.
-Recommend, develop and maintain reports that can be used by management and the individual officers working in the field to track the progress of prospect qualification.
-Analyze new and existing donors and prospects for major gift cultivation and solicitation to convert data into comprehensive assessments of our donors and make informed recommendations about the fundraising process. This ranges from suggestions for individual solicitation strategy to contributing to discussions about rating and screening, campaign analysis, and prospect management.
-Manage the prospect pipeline and develop an annual operating plan in conjunction with the development officers to ensure timely and accurate information management of data related to all donors and prospects.
-Directs donor recognition programs.
-Researches public and private grant agencies and foundations to identify potential sources of funding for research, community service, or other projects.
-dentify opportunities, analyze and evaluate competing projects and recommend projects to develop
-Manages all aspects of project development including financial performance and acceptance, contract development and negotiation, technical requirements and due diligence process.
-Prepare, gain approval and manage the budget and forecasts for development projects.
-Maintain industry knowledge of market drivers, competitive grid, and industry trends.
-Participate in the creation of a marketing strategy to further penetrate the commercial and residential segments
-Develop “alliances" with and manage one or more solar equipment manufacturers
-Accountable for meeting annual development goals and targets
-Maintain industry and governmental business relationships/contacts.

Requirements:

Degree in engineering or energy related course
Minimum of 5 years prior energy related company with exposure to business development and donor management
Ms Office Proficient - intermediate/advanced knowledge of Excel
Excellent communicator with strong business/customer relationship building skills.
Ability to manage diverse stakeholder interests and build business networks both internally and externally
Sound financial skills with ability to effectively develop forecasts, identify trends, monitor KPIs and track trade spend budget.
Willing to relocate within the EAC
Valid passport
