1. Clerical Officer II
Job Group ‘F’
Posts: Fifty (50)

Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

Salary and Other Benefits
  • Basic Salary: Kshs. 10,717 – 12, 416 p.m.
  • House Allowance: Kshs. 3,500 p.m.
  • Leave Entitlement: 30 days/year
  • Leave Allowance: Kshs. 4,000/per year
  • Medical benefits as applicable in the Civil Service
Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must be in possession of:-
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E.) mean grade C- or its approved equivalent qualification; and
  • Proficiency in computer applications is an added advantage.
In addition to the above requirements an officer must have the following competencies:
  • Personal Integrity – a strong commitment to openness, honesty, inclusiveness and demonstrate high levels of tolerance;
  • Personal Responsibility – the willingness to accept responsibility for own actions; and
  • Respect for National/ Gender diversity.
Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for clerical cadre.

Work at this level will be carried out under close supervision and guidance of a more senior officer and will be subject to regular checks and verification.

Officers at this level will be deployed in the Human Resource Management Unit, General Registry, Supplies, Accounts office or general office services.

Specific duties will include compiling statistical records, sorting, filing and dispatching letters, maintaining and efficient filing system, processing appointments and other related Human Resource Management duties, computation of financial and statistical records based on routine or special sources of information.

Compilation of data and drafting of simple letters.

2. Driver III
Job Group ‘D’
Posts: Thirty (30)

Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

Salary and Other Benefits
  • Basic Salary: Kshs. 8, 819 – 9,721 p.m.
  • House Allowance: Kshs. 3,300 p.m.
  • Leave Entitlement: 30 days/year
  • Leave Allowance: Kshs. 4,000/per year
  • Medical benefits as applicable in the Civil Service
Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D Plain or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution.
  • A valid driving licence free from any current endorsement(s) for class (es) of vehicle(s) an officer is required to drive.
  • Attended a First- Aid certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week at S.T. Johns Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution.
  • Passed Suitability Test for Drivers Grade III.
  • A valid certificate of good conduct from Kenya Police; and
  • At least two (2) years driving experience.
In addition to the above requirements an officer must have the following competencies:

  • Personal Responsibility – the willingness to accept responsibility for own actions; and
  • Respect for National/ Gender diversity.
Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry grade into the Driver’s cadre.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will involve driving a motor vehicle as authorized; carrying out routine checks on the vehicles cooling oil.

Electricals and brake systems tyre pressure, etc. Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicles systems; maintenance of work ticket for vehicles assigned; ensuring security and safety for the vehicle on and off the Road; safety of the passengers and goods
therein; and maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.

3. Senior Support Staff
Job Group ‘D’
Posts: Thirty (30)

Advert No: V/No. 3/2009

Terms of Service: Temporary

Salary and Other Benefits
  • Basic Salary: Kshs. 8, 819 – 9,721 p.m.
  • House Allowance: Kshs. 3,300 p.m.
  • Leave Entitlement: 30 days/year
  • Leave Allowance: Kshs. 4,000/per year
  • Medical benefits as applicable in the Civil Service
Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
  • Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE) Div IV or Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade ‘D’ Plain.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Duties and responsibilities involve supervisory responsibilities such as those of Head Messenger or other semi-skilled/specialized duties.
4. Support Staff III
Job Group ‘A’
Posts: Twenty (20)

  • Basic Salary: Kshs. 7, 619 – 8, 039 p.m.
  • House Allowance: Kshs. 3,000 p.m.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) of any grade or
  • Evidence of completion of Secondary school i.e. school Leaving Certificate.
Duties and Responsibilities

Carry out cleaning and messengerial duties as instructed.
