Project Finance & Administration Officer (EADD Country Office, Eldoret) Job Vacancy: Heifer Project International

Heifer Project International is recruiting the following position for its East Africa Dairy Development [EADD] Program, Eldoret Office.

EADD is a dairy industry development program funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and is being implemented by Heifer International in partnership with International Livestock Research Institute [ILRI], Technoserve [TNS], ICRAF and ABS-TCM.

Project Finance & Administration Officer
(EADD Country Office, Eldoret)

Job Summary
  • Reporting to the Country Project Manager (CPM) the incumbent is responsible for managing and supervising the project’s finance and administration department.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage and control the project’s financial resources and other assets
  • Maintain the project’s accounting systems, policies and procedures
  • Coordinate the preparation of financial plans and budgets in accordance with the project’s work plans and ensure budgetary controls are adhered to
  • Ensure effective and efficient procurement system as per the organization’s policies
  • Oversee preparation of Project Bank Reconciliation Statements
  • Ensure proper record keeping by the project and subsequent production of monthly and quarterly financial reports
  • Maintain all personnel records including personal files and other records
  • Identify training needs and continuous development for staff and participate in staff performance appraisal
  • Ensure safety and welfare of staff
  • Ensure statutory compliance
  • Ensure safe keeping of all administrative records
  • Supervise all staff in accounts and administration departments
  • Oversee receipt and verification of various reports from staff including timesheets, vehicle reports and other reports
  • Ensure an effective filing system in the office.
Job Qualifications, Experience & Technical Competencies
  • At least a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Studies or equivalent
  • A fully qualified CPA
  • At least three years experience in a busy finance/accounting office
  • Computer literacy including use of Solomon Accounting software or similar accounting package
  • Experience in donor reporting is an added advantage
