An NGO working with the pastoralist, the marginalised and vulnerable communities is seeking for a dynamic, energetic and committed person to join its team in Kenya.
The organisation supports local communities in improved livelihood projects, sustainable utilisation, protection and conservation of natural resources, advocates for fair and equitable resource distribution and enhancement of pastoralist participation in governance and decision making processes.

The Programme Manager’s responsibilities include:
- Management of the organization’s programmes and ensuring timely and effective implementation
- Identification of community needs, follow up assessments, development of annual plans and interaction with stakeholders
- Designing, developing and implementing of organisation’s programmes
- Submitting proposals and negotiating with development partners
- Preparing and submitting regular reports on the progress and status of programmes and attendant environment
- Ensuring regular communication and information flow between field and head office
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- High degree in motivation, result oriented creativeness and adaptability
- Ability to manage culturally sensitive issues is essential
- A post graduate degree will be highly desirable but a degree with 5 years experience in civil society environment will be considered
- Knowledge in water, irrigation and civil work, mostly related to rain water harvesting in arid situation will be an added advantage
- Strong experience in community mobilization very essential
- Excellent analytical, organizational planning, interpersonal and reporting skills
- Good knowledge of MS Office and Excel skills needed
- Ability to work independently, under pressure and within strict time limits
- Prepared to travel extensively to programme sites within the country and outside
- Ability to address gathering at local and international levels needed
