Jobs at Insteel Limited

Job 1: Production Manager

This positions reports to General Manager Operations. The job role is to provide leadership and performance at Manufacturing in line with strategic business objectives.

The incumbent will be responsible for: optimizing output of machine capacities and equipment capacities; sustain good health of the workforce in all the production units, auxiliary units, structures and maintain good practices regarding health & safety of people and property; in-charge of talent development and risk management.

The successful candidate will be one with clear understanding of the Kaizen principles and has exposure to best practices in energy conservation and management.

Job specifications: B Sc in Mechanical Engineering; Industrial/production/or equivalent qualifications.

He or she should have a minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience in an engineering environment and have a knack for high quality outputs.

He or she should be within the 40 year age bracket.

Job 2: Plant Maintenance Engineer

This positions reports to Production Manager.

Job Role is to provide leadership and good health and safety of all production units, and human capital at the work place particularly in the factory environment.

The incumbent will be responsible for: Implementation of an effective Preventative, predictive and Autonomous Maintenance programmes on all production units, Assurance of production machines availability, optimizing machines and equipment use including making appropriate improvement recommendations based on 80:20 rule regarding availability, quality, and cost management, and energy management initiatives.

Job specifications: B Sc in Mechanical Engineering; 5 years’ relevant experience and a knack for quality outputs within 35 year age bracket.

Job 3: Production Engineer

This positions reports to Production Manager.

Job Role is to optimize all inputs including machines, equipment and talent to deliver on developed business plans.

The incumbent will be responsible for: Consistent achievement of OEE at a minimum of 75% on all production units, WIP management & 5K initiatives, monitor and initiate improvements based on 80:20 rule on productivity/cost/quality.

Provide leadership in creating value pools to optimize productivity.

A candidate with focus learning and growth of individual team members and one that inspires passion in creativity and innovation for sustaining high performance at machine, equipment and talent level will have clear advantage over others.

Job specifications: B Sc /HND (Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering); 6 years’ relevant experience and a knack for quality outputs within 37 year age bracket.

This positions reports to the Chief Operations Officer.

MRM is looking for a suitably qualified candidate who is proactive in planning procurement and disbursement of finished goods.

The qualified candidate will demonstrate ability to keep warehouse inventory within approved stock levels and ensure timely generation of accurate and complete records.

He/she will be responsible for identification of transport providers and will maintaining contract elements.

He/she will be in charge of stocks and ensure tracking of material movement kanban management. The job positions require close working with production to ensure management of scrap and effective and efficient alignment with all operations.

Job specifications: Degree in Supply Chain Management/ Logistics or equivalent.

A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience with knowledge of SAP/ERP will be added advantage.

Team leadership, planning, execution and evaluation are clear advantage attributes.

Job 3: HR Executive

This job is tenable at Athi River, Nairobi and reports to the HR Manager.

The job role is to provide logistical and administration support to the HR function in the Company.

The qualified candidate will perform the following duties:
  • Maintain all employee data on SAP, Coordinate pre-employment medical checks and liaise with the EHS office for coordination of staff annual medical checkups,
  • Ensure compliance with all HR policies and advice employees on interpretation of the same among other responsibilities.
Qualified candidates shall possess:
  • Bachelors’ degree - Human Resource Management/ Social Science or equivalent, 5 years of experience in a HR focused organization, energetic, passionate about HR function and results driven.
