Assistant Procurement Officer Employment Opportunity

Key roles and responsibilities:
  • Plan, direct and coordinate all procurement activities
  • Enforce best practice policies and procedures
  • Oversee tendering process from bid document preparation to contracting
  • Maintain proper procurement records to ensure adequate audit trail; Supervise the maintenance and update of all purchase order files and records
  • To assist in the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practice with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards and whole life costing
  • Compile information and records to draw up purchase orders for procurement of materials and services;
  • Assist the Head of Section in the identification of reliable sources of supply.
Education and Experience
  • A University degree in Business Administration or other relevant area.
  • Accounting training at least up to CPA part II.
  • At least a Diploma in Procurement and Supplies.
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience in procurement in a busy organization
  • Membership of Kenya Institute of Supplies and Management (KISM) will be an added advantage
