As the world’s leading independent children’s charity, Save the Children inspires dramatic change for children in the UK and around the globe. In Kenya we’re operating nutrition, child protection and livelihoods programmes in Eldoret and North Eastern Kenya and providing vital additional programming in the current emergency to save the lives of thousands of vulnerable children.
We are looking for a senior international non-governmental organisation security professional to play a key role in Save the Children’s life saving programmes in Kenya.
You will have substantial practical field experience in security management in ingos in a leadership role along with a formal security qualification or advanced security management training. You will have worked in insecure/hostile environments, within a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic team and will have a comprehensive knowledge of the context and challenges of operating within the Horn of Africa region. You will have the exciting challenge of developing and ensuring the systematic application of safety and security policies and procedures in all our operational areas in Kenya.
Integral to the post is the ability to work successfully with field teams to cultivate capacity and motivation to ensure field-based responsibility for security analysis and management.
