The International Rescue Committee Kenya Program Job Vacancy: Behaviour Change Communication Officer

The International Rescue Committee seeks to fill the following positions for its Kenya program.

The position will be based in Hagadera Refugee Camp - Dadaab.

Behaviour Change Communication Officer

Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure implementation of IRC BCC strategy in all health sectors in Hagadera Refugee Camp;
  • take lead in developing and implementing focused, innovative and effective BCC messages for HIV, Nutrition, Reproductive Health, Family Planning, Mental Health and other health programs in coordination with the respective Program Managers;
  • identify and address key behaviour change gaps in Hagadera Refugees and Host Community in collaboration with key implementing partners and respective health programs
Job Requirements:
  • Degree in social sciences, communication, community development, nursing or other relevant discipline;
  • minimum 2 years working experience in designing and implementing successful BCC program;
  • demonstrated experience in community development work and participatory approaches;
  • demonstrated experience in training and facilitation, development of IEC materials and BCC methodologies;
  • excellent computer skills, willingness to work in difficult setting and demonstrated report writing skills.
