Consultants for the Public Sector and Civil Society Consultants for Change - Social Sector Economist - Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation

ETC East Africa Ltd is a Nairobi based, regional consultancy bureau, mainly working with the public sector and civil society in areas related to public sector management, institutional and organisational strengthening, governance and service delivery.

For the Kenya Health Sector Programme Support (HSPS-II), implemented in association with NIRAS and Euro-Health Group and funded by Danida, we are looking for an economist to strengthen the capacity of the Ministerial Management Unit (MMU) under Division of Planning and Policy Development.

The appointment is for a period of one year to start as soon as possible.

Candidate Profile:
  • Master Degree in Economics, preferably health economics, macro-economics or econometrics or development economics.
  • 2-4 years relevant experience in analytical work within public or private sector in the field of health economics, economics, preferably with a focus on the social sectors.
  • Experience in development of policies and planning; knowledge of Vision 2030 and ability to translate policies into realistic work plans
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment with sensitivity and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English with good writing skills
  • Advanced computer skills (word processing/excel/power point)
  • Ability to work in a team and deal with heavy workload
  • Self-motivated, innovative, disciplined and able to work with minimum supervision, specifically able to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.
