The Trust has a challenging career opportunity for the following position:

Property Maintenance Executive

Based at the head office in Nairobi, and reporting to the Property Manager and working very closely with other key staff within the Trust, this position’s responsibilities include:
  • Planning and providing overall Supervision of maintenance of the Trust’s Properties, and Reporting on same.
  • Preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of Plans, Layouts, Designs, Reports and Cost Estimates for Budgeting and Building Maintenance purposes , for proposed routine maintenance works and new projects, either in-house or in liaison with Consultants and Contractors.
  • Preparing works Specifications and Bills of Quantities for Tendering and work execution.
  • Tender documentation and Contract Administration in relation to property repairs & maintenance in liaison with Procurement and Legal section.
  • Carrying out Pre - and Post Evaluation of Project works and Reporting.
  • Managing, Coordinating and Maintaining Electrical, Mechanical, Civil & Structural Equipment Inventory/ Register & Maintenance/Service Schedules in liaison with Service Providers and Managing Agents.
  • Liaising with the relevant Local Authorities and Ministries responsible for land and buildings matters for approval of building plans and other zone development proposals of the Trust and Statutory payments.
  • Carrying out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Education and experience desired
  • University degree (preferably in Civil/Mechanical or Construction Engineering or related field from a recognized university or Institution.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management will be an added advantage.
  • Must be a Registered Engineer with the Engineer’s Registration Board of Kenya.
  • At least 5 years proven working experience in Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical works at a senior level.
  • Must be conversant with the relevant regulations and By-laws of the Local Authorities & Government Ministries.
  • Proven experience in developing Bills of Quantities, Cost estimates and Specifications.
  • Practical Experience in Project Management will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent People Management skills.
  • Have initiative, drive and should be able to work independently;
  • Excellent computer knowledge in project management software and analytical skills is a key prerequisite.
  • High levels of integrity and honesty.
  • Between 25 – 35 years.
  • Team player.
