- dealing with Parliamentary questions on Land Adjudication matters; and

- coordinating staff training programmes for Land Registration personnel.

- coordinating physical economic planning in conjunction with the Ministry of Planning and National Development;
- ensuring production of topographical information maps and aerial photographs;
- guiding on initiation of policy, strategies, standards and programmes;
- directing and supervising research;
- liaising with other institutions on research planning activities and physical planning policy related surveys;
- controlling and coordinating all relevant planning activities within a province and taking responsibility for performance of both professional and administrative staff in the province or a section at the Department headquarters;
