JOB TITLE: Fiber Optic Maintenance Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Network Planning Development and Performance REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Manager Fiber Optics PURPOSE: Manage & control and supervise all electro-mechanical systems of Zantel network covering the power plant, Air-conditioning, security systems, remote monitoring systems, etc.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assistance in installation and technical/skilled support whenever required. • Fiber cable maintenance (mainly splicing) on both domestic and international cables. • Installation of optical transmission equipments fiber/copper to customer premises. • Assistance for provisioning and commissioning activities of system itself and its capacities. • Operation and maintenance of optical and associated devices for both EASSy and domestic networking system. • Conducting technical survey and feasibility check. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• At least Bachelor degree in Telecom engineering or related field from a recognized university. • 5 to 10 years experience in fiber maintenance field and should be familiar with installation of optical transmission equipments and customer premises equipments, structured cabling.OTHER COMPENTENCIES :
• Good knowledge and hands on experience fiber splicing, OTDR tracing and fiber termination and structured cabling.• Experience in submarine cable maintenance (jointing).• Good exposure on electrical cabling, power installation both AC and DC on sites and in station and understanding of different electrical/optical standards.
