(Temporary Assistants)

Purpose of the post
The incumbent will provide transportation services in support of the office management and programme implementation. 
Major Duties and Responsibilities 
• Drives office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items. Responsible for the day –to- day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.., performs minor repairs and arranges for other repairs, and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean. 
• Responsible for the safe keeping of the vehicle's documents (i.e. Registration, Insurance) and others (i.e. tools, tires, fuel, etc.). Responsible for maintaining the vehicle's log books on daily basis. Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing etc… 
• Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken, in case of involvement in an accident.
• Responsible for reporting to supervisor any irregularities relating to the vehicle under the care of the incumbent.
• Performs other duties, as required. The post is office based with travels to various locations as necessary. 
Minimum qualifications & experience required. 
• Middle school certificate, preferably Secondary education certificate with Valid Driving License. 
• Knowledge of UN/INGOs driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair.
• 5 year’s work experience as a driver with UN or International NGOs with safe and driving record.
• Ability to speak and understand English and Arabic. Fluency of language of the duty station required.  
Remuneration: An attractive package will be applicable at the applicable UN salary scale.
