Driver/Office Assistant: East African Development Bank (EADB)

The Driver/Office Assistant will be responsible for providing quality chauffer, messengerial and office support services. S/he will be expected to maintain the assigned motor vehicle in a clean and road worthy condition and to deliver mail and parcels as required.

Specifically s/he will:
  1. Drive Bank staff on official missions as assigned;
  2. Ensure the safety of passengers and other road users through safe driving;
  3. Ensure the safety and security of the motor vehicle and good at all times;
  4. Ensure that the assigned vehicle is well cleaned, serviced and maintained;
  5. Undertake routine checks on the vehicle including cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems and tyre pressure and report any malfunctioning systems promptly for repair;
  6. Keep accurate records of official travel through the vehicle ticket and prepare vehicle monthly reports;
  7. Organize logistics in preparation for travel missions;
  8. Deliver and or pick mail and parcels as instructed; and
  9. Provide routine office administration support including the manning reception, filing and other clerical work.
Minimum Qualifications and experience

The ideal candidate should have:
  • A pass at O-levels;
  • Received training from a recognized Driving School ;
  • Auto Mechanic and Vehicle maintenance skills;
  • Attended first aid training in an approved training facility;
  • Attended defensive driving training;
  • Passed the Occupational Trade Test II for drivers; and
  • Experience of driving across East Africa, and;
  • Be aged 32 to 45 years
