Electrical Engineer- Leading Tea & Horticulture Production Group

Our client -a  leading tea and horticulture group, seeks to recruit an individual to fill the position of  Electrical Engineer.
 The Job
 This is a middle management position reporting to the Chief Engineer. The job holder will be in charge of the Electrical Section which is responsible for the supply of electricity (up to 4.5 megawatts) to 6  tea factories, 12 estates and various departments. We have an extensive hydro-electric scheme (5 separate power houses producing 1.5 megawatts) and several Diesel Generators (producing up to 4.5 megawatts with units’ up to 1000 KVA). The distribution network has over 100 kms of High Tension (HT) lines.
  Key Resposibilities
·         Management of all staff in the Electrical Section
·         Installation of all electrical equipment within the Company
·         Maintenance of all electrical machinery and High Tension lines
·         Ensure proper billing of all power consumed within the company
·         Responsible for all instrumentation equipment in the company
·         Liaise with KP & LC, Electricity Regulatory Board and Ministry of Energy on electrical maters
·         Installation and maintenance of V.H.F. radios and Telephone equipment
 The Person
·         A class “A” electrical licence
·         A Bachelors Degree from a recognized university or polytechnic
·         Over 10 years post degree working experience
·         Proven technical experience in all areas of electrical engineering including HT equipment installation (33KV), electronics, factory installations, power generation and distribution
·         Ability to manage staff, produce budget estimates, control all expenditure within electrical section
·         Should be registered with Engineers Registration Board
·         Must be computer literate
·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills (both English & Kiswahili)
·         Self motivated  and able to work with minimum supervision
·         Must be a team player
