Nation Media Group, the leading multi media house in East and Central Africa is searching to recruit a suitably qualified candidate for the position of Chief Graphics Designer, in the Editorial Department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing leadership, planning and allocating work to a team of Graphic Designers within the Group
- Generating concepts and layouts within set deadlines for publications
- Monitoring workflow and parameters to ensure deadlines are adhered to and are met
- Downloading graphics from Agents servers and sites and translating them to usable formats
- Interpreting and translating situations and ideas into graphics to stories credence
- Recommending improvements of NMG’s housestyle and implementing the approved recommendations;
- Liaising closely with other creative sections in the Group for synergies;
- Keeping abreast of development in the graphics world through reading, research and consulting.
Knowledge, skills and experience requirement:
- University degree in Graphics Design and post graduate qualifications
- Over 5 years work experience supervising a group of Designers
- Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (In design, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Ability to develop and lead a team of creatives
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and cope with pressure and tight deadlines
- A good understanding of the media and printing industries will be an added advantage
