African Course Coordinator for the Tropical Biology Association
The Tropical Biology Association (TBA) (www.tropical-biology.org <http://www.tropical-biology.org/> ) is an international NGO that works in partnership with Nature Kenya (www.naturekenya.org www.naturekenya.org/> ) to build expertise in biodiversity research and conservation.  The TBA, through Nature Kenya requires a Course Coordinator to: (i) assist coordinate and administrate its field courses in East Africa and Madagascar this includes supplementing course teaching and overseeing course logistics; (ii) facilitate course selections and communication with participants; (iii) supervise management of TBA field equipment and library, and contact database; and (iv) help TBA generally in its activities to develop capacity in biodiversity conservation and research in the Africa region. 
 
Qualifications
·       An MSc degree in natural sciences, conservation biology, environment, or related fields.
·       A strong interest in training, research and education.
·       Experience with conservation or research organisations.
·       A high degree of computer literacy; proficiency in Excel and data basing essential.
·       Proven organizational ability and flair.
·       Excellent communication, management and interpersonal skills including good design and writing skills.
·       Willingness to travel within East Africa and to work irregular hours at times.
·       Drive, enthusiasm and initiative.
 
Experience of a TBA course, skills in field research design and statistics, or knowledge of plants would be an advantage. 
 
This is a full time position and the incumbent may not engage in other activities including undertaking own research or academic studies for the time s/he will be working for the TBA. However, the position offers a great opportunity to learn and gain experience in field teaching and to network with professionals in various fields of biology. 
 
Salary scale: KSh60,000 to KSh80,000
