Self Help Africa (SHA) Vacancies in Nakuru

Self Help Africa (SHA) has received funding support through the Global Fund Round 7 to implement activities in Naivasha District, Kenya on HIV and AIDS. The funding is being channelled through CARE Kenya that is the Primary recipient organization on behalf of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Kenya.  We are hereby recruiting for the following positions to respond to expanded Scope of Work.  

SOCIAL WORKER

The Social worker shall report directly to Project Coordinator and the main role will be to realize targets under Global Fund Round 7.

Qualifications and experience

1. Minimum of a Diploma in Social Work or Community Development
2. Three years experience in working with persons at most risk (sex workers, prisoners and track drivers)
3. Skills in conducting Training of Trainers (ToT) in Community Education
4. Participatory skills in Theatre
5. Ability to work outside working hours
6. Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment with flexibility
7. Good personal and communication skills
8. Computer literacy (Word and Excel)

Valid riding licence and ability to ride a motor cycle is a PREREQUISITE

PROJECT OFFICER

The Project Officer shall report directly to the Project Co-ordinator and the main role will be to oversee field based activities and create necessary linkages with the target groups under Global Fund Round 7.  

Qualifications and experience

1. Degree/Diploma in Social Sciences or Community Development with specific training on HIV and AIDS programming
2. Three years experience in working with persons at most risk (sex workers, prisoners and track drivers)
3. Skills in mobilization and facilitation
4. Excellent skills in report writing
5. Ability to work outside working hours
6. Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment with flexibility
7. Good personal and communication skills
8. Computer literacy (Word and Excel)
9. Valid riding licence and ability to ride a motor cycle is a PREREQUISITE

 

The positions are contractual and will run upto 31^st March 2011.
