The logistics analyst will help to implement and apply cutting-edge technologies to optimize our supply chain network in order to help drive sales profitably by ensuring availability and delivering what customers want.

Key requirements of this role include ability to use analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain processes.

The Logistics Analyst will be responsible for assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations which support SCM planning and operations.

Job Description
  • Oversee the efficient flow of all products through the supply chain by developing and implementing tactical and strategic solutions that optimize the mode, time and cost of product through the supply chain
  • Assist manage performance of service providers including level of service, systems, administrative, and contract compliance through use of performance management feedback tools
  • Partner with internal product sourcing groups to help develop accurate short and long-term sourcing forecasts
  • Provide analytical support and recommendations to management regarding contract/rate negotiations and service provider selection to manage our cost, capacity, coverage, and consistency.
  • Develop, document and implement operational best practices for executing product movement through the supply chain;
  • Gather and interpret relevant data (costs, productivity, demand patterns, etc.)
  • Investigate problems, find root causes, and develop solutions
  • Develop periodic performance reports and distribute them to stakeholders
  • Provide analytical support for projects, new business opportunities, and proposals
  • Coordinates delivery schedules and other supply chain activities
  • Provide analytical support and recommendations to management
Required Skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with logistics and supply chain planning concepts (e.g., just-in-time, materials requirement planning)
  • Possess a broad range of computer skills—database, spreadsheet, statistics applications, and logistics software packages
  • Ability to understand contracts, rates and tariffs
  • Is self-directed
  • Ability to communicate findings, make recommendations, and facilitate change
  • Is comfortable working with individuals at all organizational levels
  • Possesses project management skills.
Educational Requirements
  • At least a Bachelors Degree in a relevant Discipline (transport, distribution, logistics, business management, economics, operations)
  • Membership of a relevant professional body in Logistics/Supply Chain. Professional certification will be an added advantage
Experience
  • Have at least 3 years of related work experience.
