HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

A group of companies in the Floriculture business is seeking to recruit a suitable individual to fill
the above position in our farm based in Nanyuki.

Reporting to the Farm Manager, the Human Resources manager will be responsible for:
1. Overall management of Human Resources Department.
2. Participate in recruitment and selection of employees.
3. Maintaining an up to date Employees Database using the available HR Software.
4. Payroll administration and payment of employee’s benefits.
5. Enforcing application of relevant labour laws and ensuring farm operations are compliant
with Government Legislation.
6. Responsible for enforcing disciplinary & grievance handling procedures in accordance to the
law and company procedure.
7. Coordinating internal & external trainings, preparation and participation of farm audits.
Towards this responsibility you will carry out periodic internal audits to ensure that systems
are in place in regards to each of the audits.
8. You will ensure that management reports relating to Human Resources are timely and
accurately prepared and presented in the management meetings.
9. Participation in preparation of annual budget.
10. In consultation with other HR managers in associated companies you will participate in
reviewing of the Human Resources procedures.
11. Liaising with the insurance on compensation matters and ensuring payment is done on time.
12. Actively participates in farm committees on issues raised pertaining to Human Resources.
13. Conducting inspections of all welfare facilities and recommend appropriate action to make
them appropriate for use by workers.

Candidates applying for the position must possess the following:

Minimum Academic and Professional Qualifications.
1. Diploma in Human Resources Management from a reputable institution.
Experience Required
1. Minimum 7 years relevant experience working in an organization with a labour force of
between 300 to 500 employees.
2. Strong aptitude in planning, directing, coordinating, decision making and labour management.
3. Conversant with of current labour laws and any other relevant code of practice and
regulations in Horticultural industry.

1. Attention to detail – Must possess a demonstrated ability to work systematically and
diligently
2. Administrative analytical skills- must possess ability to analyze the management accounts and
develop appropriate strategies.
3. Must be honest, strong, confident, self motivated.
4. Must be result oriented – enjoy being measured and judged by financial and administrative
performance results.
5. People Skills – ability to work diplomatically, harmoniously and effectively with diverse group
of people.
