Howard Humphreys (East Africa) Limited Career Opportunities

Howard Humphreys (East Africa) Limited has the following vacancies in their Nairobi office.

The preferred candidates should meet the following requirements;

1. Planning Engineer/Scheduler:
  • Have a degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or quantity surveying.
  • Be proficient in the use of computer scheduling software (Primavera Project Planner or Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office packages.
  • Have at least 5 years experience in construction project activity planning for multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Have demonstrable experience in setting up WBS based activity schedules with logic and cost centers for monitoring costs, resource utilization, durations and distributions.
  • Should be able to independently update, integrate and monitor contractors’ and office-based schedules and generate filtered schedules and management reports (both tabular and graphical).
  • Have demonstrable skills in oral communication, report writing, and co-ordination of project teams.
2. Senior Water and Sanitation Engineer:
  • Be a Registered Civil Engineer
  • Have at least 12 years experience in the design and supervision of construction of water supply and sewerage projects.
  • Have demonstrable and substantial experience in project management of design activities, and must have been a Team Leader in at least three water and sanitation projects in the last five years.
  • Candidates with Masters Degree in water and sanitation engineering will have an added advantage.
  • Have demonstrable skills in relevant design software, oral communication, report writing, and co-ordination of project teams.
3. Senior Structural Engineer/Resident Engineer
  • Be a Registered Civil/Structural Engineer
  • Have at least 12 years experience in structural design and coordination of multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Must have supervised at least 2 projects incorporating heavy concrete structures and structural steel in the last 5 years in the position of Resident Engineer.
  • Have demonstrable and substantial experience and skills in management of project design activities involving multiple disciplines.
  • Have demonstrable skills in relevant design software, oral communication, report writing, and co-ordination of project teams.
4. Project Manager:
  • Have a degree in or diploma in Construction Project Management or sufficiently demonstrable experience in Project Management with background in engineering, architecture, quantity surveying or related disciplines.
  • Be proficient in the use of computer scheduling software (Primavera Project Planner or Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office packages.
  • Have at least 7 years experience in construction project management on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Have demonstrable experience in developing and executing project plans.
  • Have demonstrable experience in managing and controlling project scope, time, quality, resources, communications, project risks and procurement of contracts.
  • Have strong management skills including leading teams, communicating, negotiating and problem solving
  • Have sound knowledge of administration of construction contracts
  • Have demonstrable skills in oral communication, report writing, and co-ordination of project teams.
