FH Association (Food for the Hungry) - HIV/AIDS Manager

FH Association (Food for the Hungry), is looking for an HIV/AIDS Manager for Kenya. This is a senior level position responsible for all HIV/AIDS programming in Kenya. To lead the HIV/AIDS department in Kenya, overseeing the technical management of all current programs, personnel and finances, responsible for spearheading new resource development. The HIV/AIDS Manager will ensure that programming supports national targets and is coordinated with relevant governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental partners.

Key Expected Results of the Role
Key Result #1 – Provide leadership and management support for all HIV/AIDS programs
• Responsible to establish annual work plans for all staff in the HIV/AIDS department, and conduct annual appraisals
• Introduce new techniques, as appropriate, in current programming
• Institute frequent management meetings with key staff (coordinator, supervisor level) to ensure closer feed-back loops to ensure more “real-time” programming
• Ensure programmatic compliance with donor requirements in financial management
• Ensure the timely and accurate program reporting to donors and internal communications
• With the M&E Manager, develop appropriate methods for monitoring progress and evaluating impact of activities

Key Result #2 – Lead expansion strategy development and program design and donor relations to secure appropriate, long term resources for HIV/AIDS sector
• Develop and maintain close ties with primary donors to represent our program and secure long term financial support.
• Focus new resource development toward a new model of treatment and an integrated response, in addition to our current strengths of home based care, prevention messaging, and work with OVC.
• Responsible to develop a multi-year strategy development plan in line with overall FH Kenya country strategy

Competencies and Skills
• Higher degree in HIV/AIDS related subject, preferably master’s level, specifically with a medial/pharmaceutical background
• Five years of management within the medical profession, with specific technical experience managing HIV/AIDS programs
• 3 years of experience working at a senior management level with internationally funded programs
• Successful experience in grant proposal preparation and writing, especially for PEPFAR, CDC, USAID and other government donors
• Experience in technical HIV/AIDS programming, especially treatment and VCT
• References from senior level administrators currently working for international non-governmental organizations.
• Knowledge of US government financial regulations including program management and reporting
• Knowledge of budget development and management for US government resources
