Del Monte Kenya Limited Careers: Agronomist and Labelling/Packaging Maintenance Supervisor

Del Monte Kenya Limited a world leader in production and marketing of premium quality foods, fresh and processed pineapple fruit and juice beverages is in the process of recruiting for two positions. 1. Agronomists

Reporting to the Agronomy Senior Department Heads, the positions will be responsible for:

• Planning, organizing and co-ordinating labour, equipment and materials.
• Monitoring performance of each activity and directing necessary corrections.
• Providing timely and accurate reports on work performance.
• Performing administrative duties, training and motivating subordinates.
• Ensuring safe and healthy working environment.

The ideal candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:

• Aged between 25 and 35 years.
• Have a minimum of a BSc in Agriculture/Agronomy/Horticulture/Agric-Engineering.
• At least 2 years working experience preferably in a large commercial agricultural set up or in a well established research institution.
• Candidates with experience in Irrigation will have an added advantage.
• Must be capable of working independently and meet strict deadlines
• Must be results oriented and ready to work for long hours.
• Must be a team builder.
• Must be holders of driving licences.

2. Labeling/Packaging Maintenance Supervisor

Reporting the Logistics Manager, the position will be responsible for:-

• Planning and executing preventive and corrective maintenance of labeling and packaging equipment and machinery.
• Proposing and implementing machinery modifications, improvements and new installations that enhance efficiency, improving overall packaging quality and reducing/eliminating wastage and downtime.
• Supervise and execute daily/ weekly/ monthly care of equipment and attend to break downs as and when they arise.
• Set realistic stock levels and order necessary spare parts in collaboration with Engineering Stores and Purchasing departments.

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements.

• Either a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Megatronics.
• 3 - 4 years experience in Plant/Labelling equipment and machinery maintenance with a reputable organization.
• Between 25 – 35 years of age.
• Computer literate.
