Muranga water and sanitation company limited (MUWASCO, an agent of Tana Water services board established under the water act 2002 for the provision of efficient, reliable and economical water and sewerage services in Murang’a municipality and its environs, seeks to recruit a capable and result oriented individual to fill the following position.
Accountant
Key responsibilities:-
• Ensure maintenance of accurate accounting records as per approved procedures and policies
• To co-ordinate payments to suppliers/creditors,
• To prepare and timely deliver accurate quarterly financial reports summarizing the financial performance and financial position of the company;
• To prepare the annual financial statements in according to internationally recognized accounting standards.
• Participate in budget preparation and control
• Develop and implement an effective billing system in the company
• Ensure timely and accurate remittance of statutory deductions and reports as per the legal requirements
• Maintain an accurate assets register and records
Qualifications:
Candidate must possess:-
• KCSE C+ and above
• CPA (K) or equivalent professional qualification in accounting; A university degree will be an added advantage.
• 3 years and above experience in a similar position. Experience in the water sector will be an added advantage.
• Proven analytical and supervision skills;
• Strong commercial awareness;
• Excellent knowledge of information technology systems including current financial and accounting software applications;
• Honesty, integrity and creativity are a must.
