Purpose of the Post
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Chief of field office, Wau, and Technical guidance from the Chief of Health and Nutrition, Juba, the incumbent will be responsible for the coordina-tion, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Health and Nutrition programmes in the Wau Field Office, the office that oversees UNICEF support for the four States of Lakes, Warrap, Western Bahr Ghazal and Northern Bahr-el Ghazal.

Purpose of the Post
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Chief of field office, Wau, and Technical guidance from the Chief of Health and Nutrition, Juba, the incumbent will be responsible for the coordina-tion, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Health and Nutrition programmes in the Wau Field Office, the office that oversees UNICEF support for the four States of Lakes, Warrap, Western Bahr Ghazal and Northern Bahr-el Ghazal.
Major responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for the planning, management, implementation of all UNICEF-supported health and nutrition programmes in the states covered by Wau Field Office in collaboration with all relevant partners.
- Build capacity of respective State Ministries of Health (SMOHs), County Health Departments (CHDs) and health workers through support for training, sectoral managerial and technical activities at the state and community levels.
- Jointly with the SMOHs and CHDs, conduct regular technical monitoring and supervisory visits to Counties and NGOs implementing Health and Nutrition Programmes in the Field.
- Advocate for children rights in relation to all aspects of Health and Nutrition through mobilization of leadership at different levels, promotion of public health including solicitation of community-based health, nutrition and hygiene interventions and actions.
- Ensuring timely and quality data for all Health and Nutrition programmes, including supplies, to inform programming.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required
- Advanced university degree in Public Health, or related technical field,
- Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international level in Health and Nutrition programmes planning, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation or related field.
- Fluency in English and another UN language as required. Knowledge of the local language of the duty station is an asset.
