Transparency International (TI) Jobs: Event Manager

Transparency International - Kenya (TI-Kenya) is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to promote a transparent and corruption free Kenya and good governance and social justice initiatives.

Location: Kenya - Nairobi

Event Manager: Planning and Management of the Anti Corruption Torch Run and Concert

TI-Kenya is seeking the services of an experienced event manager to spearhead the planning and management of an anti corruption torch run and concert to be held on 12th December 2009.

Specific Tasks:
  • Formulate a proposal, work plan and budget for the planned activities.
  • Source for local and international artistes.
  • In conjunction with TI-Kenya invite guests and follow up confirmations.
  • Coordinate all logistical requirements including but not limited to identification and booking of a venue, acquiring any permit (s) necessary, and liaise with service providers.
  • Coordinate all publicity activities for the event.
Expected Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years experience in organizing and managing sports and entertainment events.
  • Proven ability in sourcing popular local and international performing artistes.
  • Excellent rapport with key players in the entertainment industry including artistes, service providers and the media.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Submission of Bids

An expression of interest accompanied by a company profile, a portfolio listing previous engagements, five client references, proposed methodology and fees should be forwarded to the undersigned.

Complaints Process

This call for Expression of Interest does not constitute a solicitation and TI-Kenya reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement at any time during the EOI process.

TI-Kenya also reserves the right to require compliance with additional conditions as and when issuing the final solicitation documents. Submitting a reply to a call for EOI does not automatically guarantee receipt of the solicitation documents when issued. Invitations to bid or requests for proposals will be issued in accordance with TI-Kenya rules and procedures.

Any grievances and or complaints arising from the evaluation process and final tender award can be addressed, in writing, to the Executive Director and the TI-Kenya Tender Complaints Committee

The Expression of Interest and accompanying documents must be received no later than 13th October 2009 to the addresses below.
