Quality Maintenance Engineer

This position appeals to candidates who are results oriented, excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Someone with excellent technical/technological knowledge, who is flexible and can maintain attention to detail in a busy working environment whilst maintaining consistency and courtesy.

Scope of the job

The holder of this position, who will report to the Quality Assurance Manager, will champion quality maintenance and improvement within the production process, ensuring that production is done according to specification and anomalies are tackled by using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) approach and methodologies.

He will be a member of Quality Management (QM) pillar and will be responsible for Claim, defect waste and Sigma Index.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure inspection systems and barriers are functioning properly
  • Perform Quality test on final product for Sigma Index measurement purpose
  • Ensure raw material are within specification
  • Coach and develop operators on Quality aspects
  • Support, coach and/or participate on WCM and Total Productivity Maintenance teams
  • Perform periodical results gap analysis and propose countermeasures
  • Champion external and internal claims analysis
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing concern
  • Sound knowledge in ISO systems.
Qualification
  • Degree in Food Science & Technology or Process engineering
  • Extensive knowledge of Quality tools and SPC
  • Experience in the converting process will be an added advantage
  • Computer Knowledge with practical use of MS Word, MS PowerPoint and Excel.

Electrical Technician

This position will appeal to suitably qualified young Kenyans who are results oriented with excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Someone who is highly motivated, flexible and able to work on his own in a busy environment.

Scope of the job

Reporting to the Maintenance process leader, the successful candidate will ensure availability of production machines through efficient and timely implementation of maintenance schedules. He will also work in a flexible, focused matrix team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Efficient and timely implementation of structured maintenance schedules.
  • Carryout corrective measures and methodological loss analysis on machines.
  • Carryout continuous improvement team activities.
  • Develop and support industrial automation solutions
Experience
  • At least 3 years hands on maintenance practical experience in a busy dynamic World-Class Manufacturing environment.
Qualification
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical/electronics engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Thorough understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) automation systems and high speed variable speed drives.
  • Willing to work on flexible production shifts schedules in a matrix organization.
  • Trouble shooting and structured approach

Machine Operator

This position will appeal to suitably qualified young Kenyans who are results oriented with excellent analytical and basic machine operating skills. Someone who is highly motivated, flexible and able to work in a busy environment.

Contract type
  • This position will be initially on a contract.
Job Summary
  • The job holder of this position, who will report to the Process Owner, will be responsible for efficient machine operations within the production department.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Assist to operate laminator or Slitter machine according to instructions.
  • Maintain environmental standards as per stated policies and procedure.
  • Assist in checking quality of the product during production.
  • Report potential breakdown to maintenance department to avoid production interruption.
  • Participate in W.C.M autonomous maintenance activities and other related projects.
  • Participate in house keeping and maintenance of 5S standards.
Experience
  • Minimum of one year experience in a similar position
  • Relevant experience in a busy manufacturing environment
  • Good Manufacturing Practices knowledge.
Qualification
  • Diploma in a technical field
  • Ms Microsoft office tools Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Experience in extrusion/printing technology and TPM tools/ methodology will be added advantage.
  • Flexibility to work in shift
