In Tanzania, TechnoServe is working with various agricultural and on agricultural value chains including coffee, tea, cotton, cocoa and horticulture.

We are looking for a dynamic and top notch Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to support a new horticulture value chain program.

Duty stations: Dar es Salaam or Mbeya

Monitoring and Evaluation Manager

Responsibilities:
  • Overall management and success of the M&E and Program Quality Management Systems
  • Design and set up M&E templates and frameworks for the timely collection, management, analysis and report of the valid and reliable data that meet donor reporting requirements
  • Ensure effective training of program staff in the use of these templates and frameworks
  • Lead the M&E effort to identify clear targets and indicator for outcomes and outputs in line with TNS and donor requirements
  • Oversee development of monitoring tools and reporting mechanisms
  • Responsible for the development of an annual M&E work plan.
Qualifications:

Applying candidates should possess the following requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in statistics and other related field.
  • A Master's degree will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in an M&E managerial position in an NGO, donor agency or consulting firm
  • Proven record in designing, specifying, implementing and operating standardized, automated M&E System that are integrated into organizational operations/programs
  • Excellent leadership skills with ability and willingness to effectively train, coach and mentor colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/oversee evaluations, reviews, assessment, data audits to ensure proper use of the systems and compliance with internal and external standards of performance
  • Experience in the evaluation of development projects using range of qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Be able to use statistical software and working knowledge of new trends in M&E.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili
  • Ability to develop well written, cohesive reports that are responsive to the donors' needs
  • A valid driving license
Reports to: Chief of Party, SHIFT Program
