St. John’s Community Centre: Pumwani Job Vacancy Announcement

St. John’s Community Centre is a development project of the Anglican Church of Kenya, Nairobi Diocese.

Positions advertised are;

A. HIV Voluntary Counseling and Testing Officer
(three positions)

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Project Coordinator her/his key responsibilities will be:
  • Popularizing VCT services in the target congregations and communities.
  • Providing HIV/AIDS counseling and testing to individuals
  • Making Monthly and Quarterly VCT reports
  • Setting up support groups in the parishes for people infected and affected with HIV/AIDS.
Qualifications
  • Kenyan citizen aged 25-35 years
  • Diploma or university degree in social sciences. Added advantage for one with certificate or diploma in HIV/AIDS management.
  • Has a certificate in Voluntary Counseling and Testing from a recognized institution.
  • Certificate in computer skills.
  • Have 1 year working experience in providing VCT services in a busy unit
B. Driver
(one position)

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Finance and Administration Officer her/his key responsibilities will be:
  • Driving the project vehicle as authorized
  • Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle
  • Maintaining the work ticket for vehicle.
  • Ensuring the safety of the vehicle and passengers on and off the road
  • Ensuring safety of the mobile VCT equipment and maintaining the VCT equipment record book.
Qualifications
  • Kenyan citizen aged 30 - 40 years
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D+ or its equivalent
  • A valid clean driving license (BCE Class)
  • Have at least 5 years driving experience in a busy institution.
  • A valid certificate of good conduct from the Kenya Police
  • Should demonstrate a lifestyle of high moral integrity and sense of responsibility.
