Our client, Ecolab is a well established multinational group specializing in manufacturing and marketing of hygienic cleaning / sanitation chemicals for various sectors including the Food & Beverage sector.
They wish to recruit a Sales Manager for the Food and Beverages sector.
The position reports to the Managing Director, East Africa and the occupant will be a member of the Senior Management Team, East Africa.
Overall Job Purpose
- Responsible for the coordination of F&B sales activities in East Africa.
- The job incumbent is responsible for sales results and operating profit in East Africa.
- Plan and define the sales strategy in alignment with the marketing strategy in agreement with the supervisor.
- Plan and define the sales budget and define qualitative and sales targets.
- Define short and long-term projects and qualitative project targets.
- Define conditions and sign off customer quotations.
- Provide support to sales team on high level acquisitions.
- Manage roll-out of national accounts.
- Structure and co-ordinate internal and external communication and interfaces in the area of responsibility upwards and downwards (e.g. National sales meetings, Conferences, field trips).
- Manage interfaces within and across divisions and outside the company to reach the defined target groups.
- Consolidate and analyse Territory Manager (TM) reports and give feedback to TM's. Forward analyses and comments to supervisor.
- Plan, implement and control the cost budget in the area of responsibility in co-operation with the supervisor and manage activities in case of deviations.
- Lead employees in the area of responsibility in agreement with supervisor (individual development, motivation, assessment and feedback).
- Ensure a reasonable staffing in the area of responsibility approved by the supervisor and HR.
- First degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Professional qualifications in Marketing or Sales
- Minimum 6 years sales management experience.
- Good track record of performance management and achievement against set targets.
- Strong sales team leadership and development skills.
- Strategic thinker.
- Highly computer literate.
- Powerful presentation skills.
