The SOCIETE NOUVELLE D'ASSURANCE DU RWANDA (SONARWA s.a) is a composite and leading insurance company in Rwanda and is seeking to expand its activities in other countries, especially in East African Community.

Following restructuring and expansion of our operations, we are looking for qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions which will enable us maintain the Sonarwa leading position in Rwanda and play a major role in the region.

1) Job Position: Managing Director

Core Tasks

1. Provide Strategic direction and momentum to grow and sustain the business
2. Implement detailed strategic, operational and financial plans in accordance with Board approvals,
3. Interface with Board and all levels of staff,
4. Build strategic partnerships and relationships with business associates,
5. Delivery of all financial targets and operating profit.

Minimum qualification and requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Management, Economics, Law or other similar field, plus relevant professional qualification,
• Fifteen years of experience in management in a big company, and at least five years in top management in Insurance Industry,
• Possessing Masters in Business Administration and being bilingual will be an added advantage,
• Computer skills,and familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point,
• Age between 40 and 50 years.

• Considerable knowledge and experience in organisational management Ability to lead a highly technical team
• Self motivated and results oriented
• Excellent communication and public relations skills
• High level of integrity
  

2) Job Position : 1 Underwriting Manager

Job description

1. To plan, coordinate and supervise all the underwriting activities,
2. To receive clients professionally, charging them the correct premiums, and work in collaboration with the marketing department on how best to maintain them,
3. To advise the technical Department on competitive premium rates (prudent underwriting),
4. To ensure a quality service on the counter and be sure that different covers offered by Sonarwa are marketed to all clients,
5. To prepare tender bids and prepare quarterly Comesa reports,

Minimum qualification and requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Management, Economics, Law or other similar field,
2. Five years of relevant experience in an insurance company,
3. Progress in an insurance professional certificate or diploma is an added advantage,
4. The ideal candidate will be bilingual and have computer skills and familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel,

3) Job Position: 1 Chief Accountant

Job description

1. To plan, coordinate and supervise all the activities within Accounting Department,
2. To prepare and present periodical Financial Statements in due time and in accordance with deadlines,
3. To keep the company accounts following the recommendations of external and internal Audit and in conformity with the fiscal requirements of Rwanda Revenue Authority,
4. To ensure timely preparation of bank reconciliation statement for all accounts,
5. To ensure an effective accounts analysis and preparation of schedules,

Minimum qualification and requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Management,
2. Minimum of five years relevant experience in a big company,
3. Progress in ACCA professional certificate will be an added advantage,
4. Ideal candidates should be bilingual, have computer skills and familiarity with Accounting Softwares and with MS Word, MS Excel, presentation and analysis
   

4. Job Position: 4 Marketing Officers

Job description

1. To identify new clients and make the necessary follow up so as to meet annual budget assigned to him,
2. To maintain existing clients under him through a personalised service,
3. To promote existing and new insurance products and ensure collection of premium debts,

Minimum qualification and requirements

1. Bachelor's degree,
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
3. Two years of experience, knowledge and understanding of insurance products and insurance market is an added advantage,
4. Computer skills and familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel,
5. Proficiency in written & spoken English or French. Kinyarwanda knowledge is an added advantage.
