Mbita Ice Plant Kenya Ltd (MIP) Jobs: General Manager, Sales and Marketing Manager and Finance Manager

Mbita Ice Plant Kenya Ltd (MIP) wishes to fill the positions of General Manager, Sales and Marketing Manager and Finance Manager.

These are key positions and critical for the next phase of the development of this Suba community-owned project.

MIP’s core business is to manufacture ice in order to ensure preservation and cold storage of fish. MIP also bottles Victoria pure drinking water.

General Manager( GM)

The General Manager shall be the CEO of the company responsible for its overall direction and management and for the organization and conduct of its day-to day business.

The GM shall formulate policies and develop structures, systems, procedures and programs for the company to ensure effective delivery of its mandate according to the spirit, dreams and passion of the founders and owners.

In performing these functions, the GM shall work in very close liaison with the Board, its Sub-Committees, for whom he/she shall also serve as Secretary.

The Candidate

The successful candidate shall possess the following qualities:

• Have served for at least ( 5) years in a public or in a senior management in the private sector with relevant experience, in similar industry.
• Possess an excellent understanding of the fishing sub-sector particularly the dynamics of its economics, operations and challenges.
• Be a person of honesty and integrity with a distinguished service record either in public or private sector.
• Be a person of courage and self propelled, independent minded but also a team player.
• Be a strategic thinker, results oriented, possessing a demonstrable degree of initiative, dynamism and managerial acumen, and capable of developing clear organizational goals and strategies that will propel MIP to where the founders dreamt it would be.
• Have effective interpersonal and communication skills that can inspire and motivate the workforce of MIP and contribute to the growth of the business.

Sales and Marketing Manager

This key position comes with the following responsibilities:

• Formulating and implementing strategic and marketing plans.
• Strengthening the company’s brand in the marketplace.
• Developing and maintaining business relationships.
• Leading the Sales and Marketing team.
• Developing and ensuring the achievement of annual sales revenue budget.

The position is challenging and calls for a dynamic, confident, aggressive and forward thinking individual with the following:

• A university degree in relevant field and Sales & Marketing qualification preferred;
• Have not less than (5) years experience, 3 of which must be in a similar position in busy sales and marketing department;
• Knowledge in modern Sales, Marketing & Public Relations operations;
• Ability to set the highest possible standards of performance within the department;
• Good written and oral communication skills and must be computer literate.

Finance and Administration Manager

The Finance Manager shall be a person of integrity and of the highest competency and extensive practical experience in finance. A relevant university degree or equivalent professional qualification will be mandatory.

The candidate will possess:

• A minimum of 5 years post qualification track record of success in managerial, commercial and financial leadership;
• Ability to work in a demanding environment
• Strong analytical and people management skills;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to multitask.
